I’m just fine. Tired, I was a bit sick too and have a lot of things happening irl that I hardly find time to draw in these last couple of weeks. So very sorry for the lack of update. I have things on the way and a lot of sketches, including the famous tentacle pictures I’ve promised.

I didn’t mean to talk about the spin off. No one really asked for my opinion either, but I felt like I needed to talk about it now after witnessing a few things today. So, I’m sorry in advance if I’m offending anyone, I don’t mean to. I just need to be honest.

I’ve been aware of a line of toys called ‘Monster High’ for a little while now and I’m sure a lot of you know about it already. The toys are nice looking and I like how you can customize them to a certain degree. But then I got curious about the animation that accompany the toys and today decided to give it a shot. I mean when I watched MLP FIM it was love at first sight, so maybe that show was not as horrible as it sounded… OMG!? WTF?! What… what the…. what’s that! How SHALLOW can one show be?! And those are short web animations…. I also wondered how Tara managed to deliver those lines without dieing a little inside each time…. but I digress.

See… At first I was interested because I thought the designs were interesting and unique and I wanted to draw some fanart and rule 34 of them. That’s just who I am, I love drawing that kinda stuff. However after watching that… day old bottom of garbage vomit I found myself so disgusted that I realised I’d never be able to draw any of those characters… ever. I also came to the conclusion that although I might buy the toys for my kids (if I had them ^^;) I wouldn’t let them watch that brain spew putrefaction that is ‘Monster High’. Girls, especially teenage girls, are much deeper and much more complicated. They don’t only have fashion, popularity and boys in mind. Yes sex is a big part of being a teenager, that’s WHEN you’re supposed to discover it for the first time… But life back then sure wasn’t all about it. It was about discovering passion, making friends, learning about the world. It was the painful realization that your parents aren’t always right, that the world is sometimes full of shit, that things aren’t always fair.

Where is all of that? Where is the show that really targets those essential, crucial matter that our teenage girls face each day. Why bombard them with shallow, meaningless crap? Girls are intelligent too, FFS.

And that’s what I LOVED SO MUCH about MLP FIM. That real, deep second dimension of the characters. That pass their specific molding (the party girl, the shy girl, the fashionista, the intellectual, the sporty and the hard working) there is also real feelings and an individuality. Seeing Rainbow Dash crack under pressure, Rarity fuss over making her friends happy with their dresses, Fluttershy learning to be more assertive, Twilight finding friendship for the first time, Apple Jack failing and being scared (SCARED) to face the disappointment of her peers and Pinkie’s reaction to what she thought was rejection. Those… those are real tough situation that everyone, not just girls, have to face. That’s why I loved this show.

So that’s also why I’m very, very, very afraid of what’s going to come out of this ‘Equestria Girl’ shenanigan. I have just seen the toys like some of you may have by now as well, and deep down, I’m so very, very afraid. I’m also deeply feeling for poor Lauren who probably feels a similar way that I do right now. Scared that something she created be turned into a shallow pile of re-chewed nonsense aimed at girls only to sell merchandise. I, as a woman who once was a girl, am sick, SICK! of being treated like my interest are nothing of value pass my opinion on boys, my social ranking and my looks. (And I’m sure boys feel the same way! They aren’t just sport oriented, sexually obsessive twats! ><)

I think it’s time that parents and adults, as well as children and teenagers speak up and be honest to themselves about what’s really important in life and what kind of message you really want to give to the next generation. It’s also time for everyone to take responsibility and actually take a look at what young people are watching these days. What kind of messages they are exposed to and what is it exactly that the medias are feeding them. I don’t think it’s possible anymore for anyone to let a kid watch a TV program without yourself watching it with them and judge, yourself, if it’s garbage or not. If more people would do that, good shows like GTLAS (Green Lantern The Animated Series) would still be airing and abominations like EQG might have been drastically altered by this point and have a real potential instead of inspiring such… shallowness.

Anyway… That’s all I have to say… Sorry for renting on about this but I felt like I needed to get it all out of my chest. I doubt I will ever draw any EQG related fanart… I still hope somehow that this movie (and the possible spin off show) will not meet up to my deepest nightmares… I am relatively willing to give it the benefit of the doubt… But I suddenly lost all of my trust in that particular part of the industry….

MAbye you meant rule63? which is when you gender swap characters? (Speaking of tags, you should have an art tag, so people could find your pictures easier, if they didn't want to dig through the re-blogs and personal stuff)

I’ve tried to be cool about this Equestria Girls thing because I’m pretty sure we’ll be all turned on to the next drama within a couple months, but I can’t help thinking that Equestria Girls will undo a lot of the groundbreaking work Lauren & co. had done with MLP. If they really wanted to go ahead with this they should have at least called up Lauren Faust and locked the Hasbro toy designers out of the conference room - at least then we might have had something other than 6 tinted Bratz dolls that all look the same.

I also have a problem with the whole “Help little girls explore other subjects that would not be covered in MLP like boyfriends!”

Somehow it makes me want to throw up….

Bit of an odd question. I have a friend who's in a relationship with this guy. She draws NSFW MLP pictures, but her boyfriend doesn't really enjoy MLP, or NSFW pictures and wishes she wouldn't draw them. Were either you or your boyfriend a bit hesitant at first with NSFW art? Any suggestions on warming him up to her hobbies?

My husband’s reaction was complete disbelief that an other man would not find this situation a total turn on.

And there lies the difference between them and us. It’s all in the way one views sex. I see it as natural and I always will encourage people to explore their sexuality to the fullest. If somehow a person feels shame about sex then they will likely be uncomfortable with their loved one when they are expressing their sexuality any other way than with them.

There is also a question of jealousy and self confidence. If one of the partners doesn’t feel good about themselves they may think that the other is drawing a secret fantasy that he or she couldn’t fulfill.

My best advice to them is in two parts. First, tell the girl to draw something NSFW about her and her boyfriend. That could help, it’ll be something special that they can share.

Second, he has to understand that a picture is just a picture, sex is just sex, but that love is real and what he and his girlfriend has is special. No NSFW picture should ever come between that.

Lastly, and this is to everyone. Don’t let anyone, and I mean ANYONE, either it be a loved one, a family member or some stranger on the internet, don’t ever let anyone dictate what you should and shouldn’t do. It’s up to you and your own morals to decide.

Is "art" you and your Husband's fulltime job? Or is it more of a side hobby/way of making extra money?

We’re looking for a wig but as a teenager I had this really hardcore punk phase so I know how to dye my hair and style it real good. Personally I’d rather the wig because that hairstyle and coloring is really damaging to the hair although it’s a really funky hairstyle and I love it ^^

Talking about your NSFW work: As you said before, he likes them but isn't he sometimes jealous? For example when he sees your characters with other male characters?

At first, he wasn’t really watching it with me. He liked the animation and that was it. But then Discord appeared and he started to watch the series with me every Saturday morning.

I’m going to wear that suite ^^ See I don’t have any cosplay costume, and I’ve always wanted to have one. This one would be the first in my none-existent collection.
